Blood Bowl: Second Season Edition

Blood Bowl takes the Warhammer universe and turns it into a sports game, and it commits to the bit completely. Corrupt referees, fans hurling rocks from the stands, trolls eating their own goblin teammates, halflings being thrown across the field as a legitimate tactical option. The rules actively reward dirty tricks and punish nothing quite as much as overconfidence.

It sits somewhere between a tactical duel and an anarchic sports comedy, and that tension is exactly what makes it special. The kind of game where everything goes wrong and somehow you still win, and you never forget that match.

The miniatures got the full Warhammer treatment: zenithal prime, basecoat, wash, layering, and a lot of attention to detail. Finished with a matte varnish. One of the more involved paint jobs in the collection, and worth every minute.
